Hi everyone,
I’m relatively new to Power Automate and have a few foundational questions regarding best practices for flow setup.
We’ve created a Power Automate flow for onboarding new employees that uses a premium connector for one application and a standard connector for Entra ID. Here are my main questions:
- Flow Ownership: Who should ideally be the owner of the flow (this applies to all flows in general)?
- Permissions Allocation: What is the best way to allocate permissions within the flow (e.g., permissions for the application vs. Entra ID)?
- Licensing Requirements: How should licensing be handled (e.g., service account, service principal, regular user)?
I’ve come across a few Microsoft resources on this topic:
- Licensing FAQs: This indicates that service accounts for flows aren’t generally best practice.
- Service Principal Support: This covers service principal-owned flows but may not fully address my use case.
If anyone has insights or experience with these areas, I’d greatly appreciate your input!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Regards,
Stoyan
