How to do know that Outlook has finished receiving all new emails

Hello, everyone.

I would like to automate the flow in Outlook (Outlook 2013) as follows in Power Automate Desktop.

  1. [Action] Launch Outlook
  2. [Action] Click UI element in window (Click a Send and receive email button), or [Action] Send keys (Hotkey F9), to download new emails from mail server
  3. [Action] Retrieve email messages from Outlook
  4. some actions...

It can receive new emails, but the third action will be performed before all new emails have been received.
So I cannot retrieve data from new email.

How do I perform the next action after new emails have been received?

Appreciate your expertise ideas and assistance.
Thanks

Have it start this process by sending an email to itself. You know this will be the latest email.  After you have clicked Send/Receive or F9, put it into a loop whereby it needs to see that email to get out of the loop before running the rest of the process.

    Best of luck!

    Hello @HSJT2021

    Yet another idea,

At the bottom of Outlook window, you have status bar showing message "ALL FOLDERS ARE UP TO DATE." if there is no on going send / recieve actions.

I think you can use this as a condition to determine if the send / receive message has already been completed.

    Thank you.

    Hello @Anonymous

    Thanks for another idea.

I couldn't find the message at the bottom of Outlook window.

Is it possible to make it appear in the settings?

    Hello @HSJT2021

I don't think you are able to switch ON / OFF displaying folder status message in Outlook status bar...

I found thread below in TechNet forum. Could you please try the workaround that Aidan Wang suggests.

Status "All folders are up to date" Missing (microsoft.com)

    Thank you.
