Microsoft Forms to Excel Spreadsheet Issue

(1) ShareShare

Posted on by 13

I have used Power Automate to connect to Microsoft forms and to then create a table in Excel many times and haven't had any issues. However, about two weeks ago, Power Automate updated and now my flow has stopped working.

I created the form on Microsoft and start the flow with "When a new response is submitted." I then pick the correct form under the form ID to make sure everything matches. After that, I add "Get response details" to the flow, again selecting the same and correct form ID. Under "Response ID" I then use "Response ID" which power automate says to use with "Get response details."

After that, I add "Add a row into a table" on excel to the flow. My excel sheet is already built, so I make sure it connects to the correct sheet and table. After that, I start filling in the information making sure that both the form and the excel sheet match up. This is what I have always done in the past and it has worked fine. However, now it says that my flow is failing every time I select a new form. Has anyone else had this issue with the recent Power Automate update and found a solution? It specifically fails at "Add a row into a table" saying there was a bad request.

    Hi @Nathan360 ,

Sorry to hear this.  No, I have lots of similar flows running 24/7.  Can you share the error message please?

    Hi @trice602,

Thanks for the help! This is the error message that is showing under "body" the other error messages are just code but if it helps to see those as well I'll send them.

    Hi @Nathan360 ,

Delete all the row below your table and delete all the columns to the right of your table.  The issue is one of more of those "blank rows" contain formatting, a formula, or whitespace and you can't overwrite it when you insert a table row.

    Save. Test.

Thanks Tom! You're a lifesaver! I had some formatting below the table that I didn't realize would mess with the Power Automate settings. Thanks so much!
