I have an app that's basically a bunch of text/toggle fields which then writes the data to a SP list. However now one department wants to do the 1st part while a 2nd department will finish it. Is it possible to reopen the app with the data from that specific row, complete it and then update the row (rather than creating a new row).
I was then wondering, how could I get the 2nd department to do this, I was hoping I could send them an adaptive card/email which then opens the app (with right data). I know I could point the 2nd department at the SP list but the app looks nicer.
I've tried searching for the answer but I'm not even sure what I'm looking for/the search phrase as I'm not having much luck.
Hi @ANB,
I should've known Reza would have a video lol, thanks for posting the youtube link. Yeah maybe having a simple record gallery which is editable would be easiest, just a pity as the app itself has a bunch features plus its more user friendly.
Does anybody have any other ideas or thoughts on how I could achieve it before I go ahead? Here are some screenshots in case they help explain what I'm trying to achieve.
Homescreen
Personal Info
Work Related
Tasks
SP List
So the manager will fill in basic info like
name
user role
department
job title
campus
building
then hr will fill in
personal email
start/end date
tasks
In my SP list I have a column called "RequestID" and there is also one called "Status"...could I use either of those and to re-open that app with that data filled in which would allow HR to continue filling it in, re-submit and update the row in the SP list instead of creating a new record?
Hi @f2 ,
You can create an app which can have home screen and on it you show all records in gallery mapped to your SP list which will be accessed by all users.
Then users can click on items to complete the sections. You can create different section (forms) per department and on each form you have save button which will eventually submit that form to SP.
Please check this video which can help you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gI9OscTLD0

I hope this helps.
