I have a SharePoint list with a customized form (not a canvas form).  The list currently has 3,000 items in it.  As a rule, I will be searching or filtering for only 1 item at a time in that list -- a specific order number. 

Is there a limit to the number of lines I can use with a customized form?  If so, what issues might I run into. Of course, I am experiencing some slowness, but would like to better understand what else might arise.

    The limits on the number of records you can work with is dependent on the formulas you use to filter the records.  If the functions used are "Delegable" then you can work with lists that number in the millions.  If not then you are limited to 500 records by default (which can be expanded to 2,000). This article explains the concept of delegation.
