How to set up button to run Flow in Powerapps - configuring the RUN command

Hi Everyone

I have created a get file content using path flow which works in test(see 2 of 2), but now I want to attach that flow to a button. All well and good but I am a little lost on how to configure the OnSelect properties of the button.

I pull a button into my form > Click on powerautomate and select the Powerapps button. However now I have a Run command that is asking for Getfilecontentusing path as well as a Get ItemID. However I am not overly sure what to put here or in what format. If you take a look of 1 of 2 image below you will see the error. I assume the file path is entered with "" but I am not sure if this is correct or what needs to go in the GetItem_id field.

any advice would be most welcome.

Hi @pcoombe,
if your trying to pass the form details to ms flow as a get item id parameter. try this
in case of new form:
pass YourFormName.LastSubmit.ID
in case of edit form:
have a datacard for id column inside your form and make the visibile property false. and pass that datacard value as get item id (i.e. value(datacardvalueID.text))

The run command is asking you to fill in the values in the flow where you used the Ask In PowerApps dynamic content. If you are being prompted for two parameters then you used it twice. You need to supply the values the flow is asking for. The GetItemId is just the integer value for the ID of the list item you want the Get Item action in Power Apps to get. I don't see the other parameter in your screenshot. That could be because its not in the screenshot or it could be because you used the Ask In PowerApps dynamic content and then deleted it. Deleting that dynamic content won't remove it from the parameter list. To do that you'll need to remove and replace the trigger. Removing the trigger will remove all the parameters. You can then re-insert the ones you actually need. Once you do that remove and re-add the run flow in the power apps button and supply values for the parameters.

thankyou for the explanation. So that worked but only where i provided the Item ID in the test in respect to GetItem_Id. You can see in the capture image I have manually applied the ID value of 11 and this works a treat, but how do I replace 11 with just id of the current item. Looking at the flow; using GET ITEM I can only specify the GetItem_id expression, I have no other choice, so wondering how to get round this.

That depends on what you mean by current item. But lets say you have a Gallery with a selected item. Then you pass Galeryname.Selected.ID as the parameter. That will then be used in the flow as the ID of the item to be selected. Without something like that the flow doesn't have any idea what current item you mean.
