Convert .xlsb file to .xlsx

Hi!

Is it possible to convert .xlsb file into .xlsx? We're using tableau as our report development tool and one of the data sources is in SharePoint uploaded as .xlsb file. Unfortunately, tableau can only accept .xlsx file as data source and not .xlsb that's why we need to convert it to .xlsx. The .xlsb file is uploaded in SharePoint.

Have you tried doing a create file and forcing the file name change to .xlsx? I would try first by putting the file name as "Test.xlsx" or something and if that works you could figure out a way to strip off the xlsb and then refer to that for the name with the .xlsx on the end.

I have not tried it from a XLSB but I have from a CSV and it worked.

Well poo...I don't know then. I only tried it for the one and it works..guess this is different. Sorry.

If I think of anything else that you could try I will come back but so far that is only thing I have done that is similar.

    Hi!

not sure if you had any success with this but I have managed to get around this for tabled data only by converting to csv:

    1. create a table in the xlsb file using office script if you dont already have a named table range in the workbook
    2. use list rows connector to read rows
    3. create csv table
    4. create file using csv data

We use this for Power BI as Power BI can read csv without plug ins

I have the same query. My xlsb file has too many sheets and the sheet I want to refer is not in a Table format. It comes from one of our Customers. Has there been any solution to this yet?
