Add validation to ensure an app button only appears when there are no entries for Today's date

I'm trying to work the app so that once working hours for Today have been entered, 'Submit Working Hours' button disappears (to avoid duplication).

Therefore I'm trying to run a filter against the Dataverse table as follow but its throwing an error:

Then once I've run this filter I can then look to set a global variable to trigger, the 'displaymode' of the submit button based on if any results of the filter/ or not.

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

    In the meantime I have been able to resolve this myself by doing the following:

    1) add a combo box - applied a filter within the 'defaultedselecteditems' property to show only items with todays date and the name of the user.

    2) This then drives a flag with an If statement to determine if an entry exists in the dataverse table/ or not.

    3) I then use the outcome of 2) to then set the submit button to disabled if an entry already exists!
