Allowing users to submit data on an edit form without giving them direct editing access outside Power Apps.

Hello,

 

In Power Apps I have an edit form connected to an Excel file. The user can enter a new record to be added by submitting the form, this will then update the Excel file with the new row. However, to make this work I need to give the user editing access to the Excel file outside of the app. This is a problem because I don't want them to edit the file or delete anything by accident. Is there a work around so that the user can still send the data but cannot edit the Excel file? Would a SharePoint be better for this, or could I even use Power Automate?

    Using Power Automate and setting the "Run Only Users" to the connection of the flow owner should do this for you.
