  • Clicked the "edit" of a canvas app;
  • Popped up "Open with new version" box and clicked.
  • Popped up "Leave Site? Changes you made may not be saved." and clicked "Leave"
  • Popped up "You already have {App Name} locked for editing in another session" and clicked "Override"; (I don't have the app opened anywhere else.)
  • Popped up "Open with new version" box again and clicked.
  • Stuck at "Getting things ready" for 5 hours ...

Please help.

    I have had this on app that connected to large data sets, or connected to many small datasets, had lots of components etc. I have one app that used to take 2 hours to boot in edit but after a lot of work its now down to 10-20 mins for edit mode. how many datasets are you connecting to?
    I also had another issue historically similar to this but it never loaded. in that situations some cookies and other bits were blocked by browser and somethings were blocked by firewall. is it possible this might be the case for you?

    14 datasets in total. But the data volume is very small. No table has more than 10,000 records. They are all Dataverse tables. So, datasets shouldn't be the cause.

    I tried both Chrome and Edge.

    I had this issue when i had 30 dataverse tables and a bunch of lookups and gallerys a way to see if thats the issue is to temporarily block connections to dynamics and it will bring no data into edit mode but will let you in if that was the problem

    How did you block Dataverse connection without getting into the "edit" mode?

    It seems like there is a certain release from Power Apps Team recently that might cause this issue.

    I got into the edit mode of an old Power Apps using authoring version - 3.21101.26, then I updated the authoring version to a later version -  3.21112.22 (without making any other changes). Then, I saved the changes and close this app.

    If I re-open this app in edit mode, the same issue will come up. (the screen will be stuck at "Getting things ready" step. But if I restore to authoring version - 3.21101.26, the issue will go away.

    This old app doesn't connect to any data source.
