Hello, I hope you are fine.
I'm trying to add a new table from an external data source, using a on-premise gateway connection to our SQL Server DB but I get the error shown in the attached image.
The connection works fine for Power Apps applications and Power Automate Flows. Permissions are ok, I also tried giving db_owner role, but it's not working. Can you help me please?
Thanks in advance.
Marking this as 'solved' is not right. The 'solution' was to contact support. How exactly does that count as solved?
@wtave, that will be very useful as this is a new feature and more makers will start to use it.
Thank you again @AhmedSalih .
I created the support ticket, and I will post the solution here if I get any.
@wtave, sure: go to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/ and do the following:

Thank you for the response @AhmedSalih.
I don't know how to create the support ticket, please help me out.
Thanks.
@wtave, I tried from my end and I am also getting the same error. I would suggest that you open a Microsoft support ticket. Do you know how you can do that?
Thanks for your reply @mbatutie
I always use SQL Server Authentication as we create users for every app. The thing is that as I mentioned it works fine for everything except when usen to create and external data source 😞
Thanks again.
I had issues with my SQL connection for virtual tables as I was using a windows authentication account for my connection (windows auth worked well for all other purposes). Then changed to a different user with server authentication and that worked. However, my issue was the connection not showing up at all, without any errors, so might not be it, but worth a try!
Good morning, I hope you are fine @AhmedSalih
When I add the connection it works fine and says “Connected”. That connection is working when using the Import function in Dataverse.
I use the same DB and connection (on-premise) with Flow, PowerApps and it works fine.
Only getting an error when using it as external data source in dataverse, as mentioned before and can’t find any information on the error.
Thanks for your reply 🙏🏽
Hello, @wtave, this is a connection issue. try to connect the connection first and see if you can:
