I want to send the following keyboard strokes to an application
"1. " (one-point-space without the quotes)
but as soon as I save the command it is automatically cut down to "1". Why is this, and is there a way to avoid that?

Do you also have the word for the dot? Because sometimes I have to write "1." without space.
The "." will work for that.

In the valid keys section, you can find other options. There is a {Decimal} option if you specifically have to use the period in the Number Pad section of the keyboard.
