forward slash gets concatenated to the path (last string)

Hi Experts,

Are there any rules for providing root folder to the Local File connections

When I provide, C:\Users\<fistname.lastname>\downloads, after execution the path is changed to

C:\Users\<firstname.lastname>/Downloads

I browsed here for issue, and followed this

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Connecting-To-Data/File-System-Connector-adding-forward-slash-to-path/m-p/572583#M8976

created Compose with my local folder and used that as output in "Get File Metadata" ( Local File) but still same issue

Please can someone help me out.2021-02-19_11h49_15.png2021-02-19_12h06_06.png

Thanks a lot and Best Regards

    Thanks a lot @miketran13

I tried it with various ways

    \\<Machine Name>\Users\<User name>\Downloads

    \\<Machine Name>\<User Name>\Downloads

But could not access folder but the forward slash issue is not seen.

Is it because my machine name is mapped to network drive ? and there are no folders or path to local drive, could that be the reason?

The reason, I did not explore all this earlier is that I can see the folder list in edit mode and I can with change as well, but when I run I get this error.

    Hi,

I am wondering why you just used the folder path in Get File metadata, and why you did not use a full path to the file there.

There is one thing is different from my example, that I used a full path to a file and the root name of my path is the computer name but in yours, it is C:\ drive path. Maybe you can try it with the computer name same as my examples.

Thanks and hope it can help you.

    Mike

Re: forward slash gets concatenated to the path (last string)

    Thanks a lot @miketran13

I have tried again with two forward slashes  at the beginning of the path, Yes In the edit mode, when I click on folder icon, I get all my C:\download stuff visible but the moment I run, something happens which Inserts "/" to the path's last string including root. Does this give any hint, to get some help.

Edit mode: I can see the FoldersEdit mode: I can see the Folders

On the right the issue, unfortunately I masked it but instead of /downloads, I get \downloads

Strangely, I move the directory to root, the forward slash happens to the last string of the path.

Re: forward slash gets concatenated to the path (last string)

    Hi,

It does work well for me, please try to have a full path of your file in the Compose activity to check if it can work for you.

And you can try to Browse to your files to make sure your Onprem Gateway is working, using the Icon and get the full path to your file, then run your flow to test it first.

Thanks and hope it can help you.
