Using PAD to extract text from word document files

Hi, 

 

I need to put together a power automate desktop flow to extract specific data from a word document - there are multiple word docs so this will need to be in a for each loop. The extracted data then needs to be written into an excel document.

 

I think using UI elements in PAD will be the best option? 

 

any advice would be great

    Hi,
    Unfortunately, Power Automate for Desktop does not provide any specific actions for automating Word.
    It is possible to use keyboard shortcuts with the 'Send Keys' action, but the operation is unstable.
    (e.g. Send keys action (Ctrl + A, Ctrl + C) -> Get clipboard text action -> Parse text action)

    If possible, using Word macros would be more stable.
