Send email to users after Power BI Dataset Refresh

Hello Experts,

We need to send email to a set of users every time our Power BI dataset is refreshed in the workspace.

- This dataset refresh in the workspace can be manual refresh, scheduled refresh or even a refresh via API from an ADH pipeline.

- This dataset refresh can happen more than once in a day as well, hence we can't proceed with Power BI's subscription(after data refresh - once daily) option

I did search a bit over internet but mostly found on-click triggers to send email or refresh data and then send email. What I need is for Power Automate to automatically capture Power BI dataset's refresh without any clicks or alerts.

I also saw posts with REST APIs but I don't know how or where to use them.

I'm completely new to Power Automate and hence would request to please provide a step-wise solution if this is solvable.

    Hi @Anand24

Did you get a chance to look at this?

There is no trigger that fires just because a dataset was refreshed.  I suspect the best you can do is to use the When a data driven alert is triggered . That wouldn't guarantee that an email would be sent every time, but you could guarantee that an email would be sent if something that the users will care about changes. I suspect that is really what matters.
