Hello everyone,

I build a simple business process flow with CDS.

in the approval connector I want to add an link the the record that is submitted

微信截图_20201202175707.png

I learn form this video (Modern Approvals with Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Flow - YouTube) that the link looks like this:

ms-dynamicsxrm://?pagetype=entity&etn=ENTITYNAME&id=YOURGUIDHERE

and in the video the author is able to access the CDS record using MS Dynamic 365 mobile app.

I tried but without success.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Derek4,

Can you show the output of your item link?

The format you shared should work, what entity are you trying to link to? I was just able to access an item link myself on the MS Dynamics 365 Mobile app for the Account entity

    ms-dynamicsxrm://?pagetype=entity&etn=account&id=e983c77a-a3d9-e911-a812-000d3a25209b

    Hi @Expiscornovus ,

    Thanks for the help!

    My expression is like below:

    微信截图_20201202212359.png

and below is the name of my entity:

    微信截图_20201202212651.png

and below is the output of the flow:

    ms-dynamicsxrm://?pagetype=entity&etn=cre37_btmfrm001cmmsmodification&id=f9eb2730-2028-4620-8c92-21578177e114

and below is the snapshot when I click the link:

    微信截图_20201202213559.png

it can redirect to Dynamic 365, but what I really want is directly to the request form itself.

    Hi @Derek4,

I believe even with that link it should directly go to the main form and show your record.

Just to double check. Your custom entity also has a main form tied to it?

Can you check if that main form is available on phone?

    Hi @Expiscornovus ,

I do have a main form and it looks like this in the Dynamics365 Mobile:

    Hi @Derek4,

Strange that it still doesn't work. Can you try using entityrecord as page type instead of entity and see if that makes a difference?

    ms-dynamicsxrm://?pagetype=entityrecord&etn=cre37_btmfrm001cmmsmodification&id=f9eb2730-2028-4620-8c92-21578177e114

Btw, if you use another entity and different record id. Does that work? So, if you for instance create a link to an account entity record instead? Does that directly show the form with the record on your mobile app?

    Hi @Derek4 ,

I think you are looking for this:

    Thanks

    Hi @Expiscornovus ,

I just find an interesting thing,

On my desktop/laptop with Outlook and Dynamicas365 Desktop it directly goes to the main form and show my record as you said.

On my phone with Power Automate Mobile, Power Apps Mobile and Dynamicas365 Mobile, it does not work.

I have checked all the settings according to the link you shared:

Set up Dynamics 365 for phones and tablets | Microsoft Docs

All set but still it does not work, very strange.

    Hi @Derek4,

Doesn't sound like you are doing something wrong in your flow though, your composed link looks correct.

Btw, which version of the Dynamics 365 Mobile app are you running?

And I also found this issue in the troubleshooting section of Mobile Phone apps of D365.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/mobile-app/troubleshooting-things-know-about-phones-tablets#troubleshoot-deep-links-that-come-from-microsoft-dataverse-or-dynamics-365-customer-engagement-on-premises-apps

Maybe it's worth a shot posting this on the Dynamics Forums as well? Maybe it's a limitation of those phone apps? https://community.dynamics.com/f
