How to share flows best practice without premium.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to share a flow I've created in Power Automate Desktop with another machine, but I don't have access to the premium version that might offer easy sharing options.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Manual Copy/Paste: I know you can manually copy all the actions to a text file and then paste them into Power Automate on another machine, but this method is really cumbersome and not practical for larger flows.
  • Copying Workspace Folder: I attempted to copy the workspace folder from the AppData directory and transfer it to the other machine. Unfortunately, this didn't work—the flow doesn't appear in Power Automate Desktop on the target machine.

My Question:

Is there an easier way to share or transfer a flow in Power Automate Desktop without using premium features? I'm looking for a method that doesn't involve manually copying each action or requires a premium account. Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Additional Info:

  • Both machines are running the latest version of Power Automate Desktop.
  • I'm primarily interested in transferring flows between personal computers, not sharing them over the cloud or with other users online.

Thanks in advance for your help!

To make the "Manual Copy/Paste" less cumbersome, put all the actions into a Scope und copy/paste just this Scope (plus the trigger and variable initializations if necessary)

    Hey Hi,

I think without premium also you can export the solution as given below.

    Please find the steps.

    Export and Import Flows

Power Automate Desktop allows you to export flows as .zip files, which you can then import on another machine. Here’s how you can do it:

    Exporting the Flow:
    1. Open Power Automate Desktop.
    2. Go to the My Flows tab.
    3. Select the flow you want to export.
    4. Click on the Export button and choose Export as .zip.
    Importing the Flow:

    1. Transfer the .zip file to the target machine.
    2. Open Power Automate Desktop on the target machine.
    3. Go to the My Flows tab.
    4. Click on the Import button and select the .zip file.
(Note:- if you got your solution you can mark as solution and gives kudos)

    Thanks & Regards

Thanks for the responses guys, both sound like possible solutions. However, where is the export button? I can see that there's an export button for cloud flows, but I can't see one for desktop flows.

No I don't think there is a way to do that without premium. Its a premium feature that you would need to pay the license for.

Only way to share the flows are to select all the flows in one subflow (Ctrl + A ) and copy (Ctrl + C) and then paste them to a text file that you bring to the other machine and copy paste those actions to the new flow.

The Manual copy paste is not that cumbersome unless your flow has many subflows.
