Creating a flow for a Microsoft Form with branched questions

Hi,

Working on process reviews for my organisation and have found myself trying to use microsoft forms to move forms that require completion and authorisation between shared mail boxes within my org. We want the responses to be returnd to the original mail box in e-mail format that be easily read. So far I have managed to develop forms, use branches questions and have managed to power automate form so they move successfully between shared maiboxes.  The completed form comes back into the original mailbox in a decent readable format. I can successfully power automate form that dont use branches questions.

So far so good but I am having trouble power automating forms where I have used branched questions.

I have used yes no or no questions and build a basic form to test. When testing I can send links to the form, go into the shared mail box and complete the form. The response in my forms looks right with all the questions I have selected showing but the response  e-mail that goes into the mailbox is not right. I have attached a copy of my basic test flow  and the basic response is below.

Name: Flo Flop

Student number: 1234567

Do you like ice cream: Yes

What is your favourite pudding:

Is there anything else we need to know: Nothing.

I am assuming I have set conditions wrong in my flow.

That I have got this far is a miracle as I am not an IT personal at all. My organisation are happy to allow us to use forms and power automate but dont offer training  and just use it but they dont offer help in developing things.

Its a real shame as if we could get this set up it would really improve the service we offer to both internal and external customers.

Can anyone advise or point me to some trouble shooting resources for using power automate to create flows for form with branched questions.

    Hi,

No I have not been able to solve the problem..

    Below is my flow.

We want to send a link to the form from a shared mail box to another shared e-mail box,. This works fine.

When the form is completed by colleagues we want the content to be sent back to the original  shared e-mail box.

Again the movement between the shared mail boxes works fine.

The actual form ( saved in responses) reflects what I select when testing but the information in the e-mail response into the shared mail box is not right.

I have 3 complex  with multiple branched questions  that we want to create flows for. Are there any training materials for the scenario I describe.

    Hi @PP66 ,

Thanks for your further reply. Do you mean the email sent by your flow is blank of MS form's answer?

I make a very same flow and form with your guidance but it works well.

Would you please check form Id you picked here? Also the connection information of these two actions (to see whether it's your account information)?

Re: Creating a flow for a Microsoft Form with branched questions

    Hi,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I attached a picture of my flow and a copy of the e-mail text that is coming through. I tested the  the Yes flow. I have tried my flow using is " equal to " and also "contains" as in this screen shot. the results are the same in both cas4s.

When I complete a test form looks correct as I want it to look  â€œin my forms “

However when testing the yes flow the e-mail that comes through using that test flow is pulling a field from the no flow. See below for an actual example.

Apologies I don’t know how else to explain this.

Below is the e-mail produced from the test flow above.

    Name: Flo Flop

    Student number: 1234567

Do you like ice cream: Yes

    What is your favourite pudding:

Is there anything else we need to know: Nothing

What I would have to see is

    Name:

    Student Number:

    Do You like ice cream:

Does ice cream hurt your teeth.

I have somehow got answers from the no flow coming up in my yes flow.

While my organisation is happy for us to use both forms and power automate they do not offer support, You are advised you can "use it but we dont train or  help you develop forms or flows"

I am really poor at IT so it’s a bit of a miracle that I have got here on my own mostly by finding stuff on forums.

If my question is to specific are you able to signpost me to any resources that help trouble shoot power automate. I cant seem to find anything.

Re: Creating a flow for a Microsoft Form with branched questions

    Hi @PP66 ,

Please correct me if I make any misunderstanding.

Do you mean you put dynamic content of "Do you like ice cream" on left of condition and "Yes" on right, but when the answer to the question is "Yes", the condition goes to the "If no" branch and send the right hand email?

If so, would you please change the "Contains" to "Equals to" for a try?
