I need a flow that sends an email to a specific user when a new sharepoint list item is created. However, I need this email to come from a generic account and not the creator/owner of the flow. Can this be done?
I am currently using a Sharepoint Designer workflow to do this and it seems to send an email from the sharepoint site account (no-reply@ sharepoint.com) Can a flow do the same? There isn't a shared mailbox that all users have access to.
@thamilton yes but if you have a service account, it will send email notifications then why do you need to give permissions to all staff ? And it is not a good practice to give permissions to all on service account so they can do send on behalf operation.

@jinivthakkar thank you. If we were to use a service account would all staff need permission to send on behalf of that account?
@thamilton No that will not work.

@jinivthakkar ok thanks. I don't think assigning a licence is an option for us. I notice that I can add the sharepoint list as an owner of the flow - does that have any bearing on which account it emails from?
@thamilton it is just another account like your, and we assign E3+F1 license and you make the service account owner of the flow.

@jinivthakkar Thanks, could you explain a little more how we would do this please? Would this account need to be assigned a licence for example?
@thamilton Yes it can be done, you can have a service account with whatever display name you want and you can use this account to send emails.
