Signing in and Out System

Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice on whether what I want to do is possible and if so a point in the right direction. I'm fairly new to Power Automate but have cobbled some flows together previously using info from forums but I can't seem to find anything that relates to my current plans. I would like to create a sign in and sign out process where there is a form for each and the information of the "out" and the "in" are both recorded on the same row on a spreadsheet. I have detailed below the process I'd like to follow:

  1. User signs out by filling out a Microsoft form
  2. Their "out" details are recorded on a spreadsheet
  3. An email is sent to the user with a link to sign back in
  4. On their return, the user clicks the link in the email and completes the Microsoft form to enter their "in" details
  5. The "in" details are then appended to the row in which their "out" details were recorded
  6. The next time they sign out this will create a new row on the spreadsheet thereby maintaining a log of "out" and "in"

In my head, I'm thinking if I give each row a unique ID (maybe the response ID from the "out" form) I could then pass this to the "in" form so that the flow can match the "in" to the "out" and therefore keep the information on the same row. However, I am not sure how to go about passing the unique ID via email and then to the "in" form or how to get the flow to find the correct row and input the "in" information.

Is this even possible in MS Forms and Automate? If so, I'd greatly appreciate any advice!

Many thanks,

Laura
