Bing Maps / Azure Maps

Hi all,

I have question about Bing Maps connector (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/bingmaps/) . I'm not sure that this connector will be supported in the future because Bing Maps are replaced by Azure Maps. Now I need to get geo coordination and I'm not sure that the best way is use mentioned connector or use custom HTTPS request to Azure Maps.

I'm in the same boat.  I have a number of clients using the Bing Map control, but a) you can't get new Bing Map accounts and b) it will dissapear completely on June 30th 2025.

Hey Microsoft, what's your solution here?

    Hi Ekonzultace,

You're correct—Microsoft is gradually shifting focus from Bing Maps to Azure Maps, and the Bing Maps connector may not be supported long-term.

For geocoding, the preferred approach is to use Azure Maps via custom HTTPS requests, which allows more flexibility and aligns with Microsoft's current direction.

If you're working with Dynamics 365 and need in-app mapping functionality such as address geocoding, route computation, or spatial data visualization, consider using a geo-mapping solution from AppSource that includes native Bing/Azure Maps integration. These solutions support embedding maps directly within Dynamics 365, Power Apps, and Dataverse environments. They can also be added to Canvas Apps and, if required, configured to use Azure Maps as an alternative map provider.

    Thanks!
