we need to create a pre-production for testing, and we have an environment that is not needed. Was comparing the "Backup and Restore" method from prod to this environment, versus copy from PROD to this environment.
Are there both the same or which one is preferable?
Thank you,
Thanks for reaching out. The Backup and Restore is a full restore including data and configurations. Since you will use the environment for testing you don't need all the data. So the Copy from PROD is best option since this allows you to copy down only the configurations/customizations and not the data. Please mark as an answer if this helped.
Hi @thomasfnorthrup We actually need to sync both configurations and data. so then both "Backup and Restore" and "Copy environment" is the same really, correct?
Yes essentially. I use Copy every time. I only use backup and restore when I am restoring a specific point in time.
