Copy and rename a document

I would like to create an automation. I have a Excel file named "Generic Attendance" in my work team SharePoint folder named "Attendance", every weekday at 4:00am (just anytime before the work day) I would like it to create a copy of of "Generic Attendance" and rename it with the day's date in mm-dd-yyyy format. In other automation interfaces I would do something like
  1. Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 4am
  2. Find file [Generic Attendance.xlsx] in Folder [Shared Documents/Folder 1/Folder 2/Attendance]
  3. Create Copy of file [Generic Attendance.xlsx] in the same folder. (It would then make a file named "Generic Attendance1.xlsx")
  4. Rename File [Generic Attendance1.xlsx] to ["Today's Date, mm-dd-yyyy"] (it would then rename the file "01-02-2026.xlsx")
Mostly my team uses SharePoint and have access to all the Microsoft Power apps.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi there!

Here's a quick flow you can copy and make it your own, works in testing.

    The trigger.

Get the file content of the 'generic attendance.xlsx' workbook.

Create a copy of the file with the new name MM-dd-yyyy.xlsx

Note the formula for the file name.
