Populate Word Document Based on Excel Sheet uploaded via Forms

Hello -

My team has several word document templates that populate based on submission of a Form and then have the word doc template emailed to the user. A part of these templates is very tedious as you have to enter a product code, product name and buyer name so that the exhibits in the word doc reference the subject transaction.

All of the above date lives in an excel doc that would be completed before we need the word document. I am trying to find a way where the Form just asks for the excel doc to be uploaded, and then power automate takes the needed info from the uploaded excel document. Is this possible?

I have few questions

1. As you said there are many word document templates, should the selection of word templates depend on form submission?

2. Does word template should be created for each row in excel file uploaded?

Hi @Nived_Nambiar

The first question in the form should act as a condition for which word template to use. The word templates all contain the same data with some minor changes of verbiage based on the answer to the first question.

The From will ask for 2 dates which will be placed onto the templates and then will need to fill an exhibit within the word template with information from the uploaded excel sheet. There should not be a new template for each row within the excel file. Each excel file will have independent information that needs to be transposed to the word template in whole.

This is possible using switch actions and all in power automate.

For second flow, do you have any sample data to give a try on ?
