How do you connect your Microsoft List with an Outlook Calendar?

Lists allows you to create a calendar view of your list, but it does not create a calendar link. I've tried adding it as a separate calendar in Outlook, but the link is not a .ics so it will not allow it to be added.

I've also tried using Power Automate Flow to create a calendar event when a new item is added. All it does is notify a new item was added, rather than the actual contents of the item. I've even tried to have a flow create a Planner item for my list item so I can integrate the planner into Outlook. Nothing is working correctly.

I just don't understand why Microsoft does not provide a simple solution to add List items to an Outlook Calendar, or am I missing something? Please help!

Microsoft does have a simple solution; the action is called Create event (v4):

Note, you will only be able to create the event in your Outlook calendar or shared calendars where you have the permission to create events. You can add more details by clicking on show all next to Advanced parameters.

    David,

I attempted your reply and I am getting an error. I'm trying to use the Date/Time column in my list for the Start Time/End Time and it's saying "The parameter with value '"@body('Get_item')?['PublishBy']"' in path 'item/start' with type/format 'String/date' is not convertible to type/format 'String/date-no-tz'.'."

Since you don't show how you have configured your flow, it is difficult to determine the issue. But if you did exactly as I showed below, the issue is probably with the date field in your SharePoint list, which needs to be configured like this so that it includes the Date & Time:
