how to add more data and patch without overwriting existing records??

Can anyone help.. not sure how to do it the best solution?

I have a list of Gallery records

That will reflect the total amount that user input. when the user received invoice for payment it could be divided into months , i need the person to input by the date and month on the actual amount and reflect into the list.

Number of months various.. Is it possible to have a box for them to input the number and use workflow to dividen out the amount to show in the SP list as projected and then another column is the actual when invoice is received ???

eg: the amount of $20K to pay for 6 months - so April ,June, Aug, Spet, Dec etc.. based on the actual amount stated in invoice received to input.

so the list shld show all the records.. how to do it?

As for now, there is a box to input but it's for April ..if user input the same box again it will overwrite the April record.

HI,

I would go about this differently... When I design and develop systems it is all about Actions! Actions to be Taken, Actions Taken, Action Results.

I would setup a gallery of Payments to be made and a SharePoint list also with this name.

Put in description, amount, and payment number... Then have the SharePoint calculate payments each month, etc....

Nice things here is you can all Attachments (images' of the invoice, etc...)

Now add another SharePoint list to add Payments, netes, etc....

This will be the detail area and can be displayed n a Gallery and then have the rolling total.

Can I have tick box to select no of months for divide
