How to ensure a Flow will trigger on the NEXT modification rather than the Last Modification

How can I be certain the Flow" "When an item in a SharePoint list is modified send an email" will trigger on the next modification after turning on the Flow, rather that the last modification made to the Item?  Almost all the List items have been updated since creation, and I don't want to trigger hundreds of email alerts.

Hopefully this is clear and your prompt response is greatly appreciated.

    Hi @AMRICE01 ,

When you turn off the flow, it will start queueing all the events happening on the list items.

The moment you turn it on, it will start triggering your flow based on past events. This is the feature of Power Automate.

Right now, there is no way to avoid this situation, but there is one workaround to skip this.

    Workaround:

You can add Terminate action in your flow.

You add the above action right after the flow trigger and after that turn on your flow.

Leave your flow for some time, you will see many instances with Cancelled status. Keep an eye on the Start time of your flow and if you see no more flows are triggering, then you can remove the Terminate action.

    Thanks
