Abort Query in Canvas App

Is there a way to abort a long running query?

If one configures something wrong, it can happen that a query runs infinitely. This is indicated by the "flying dots" on top of the app and most probably the performance is degraded.

The only way to overcome this I know, is to close the app and re-open it again.

Isn't there a more elegant way to achieve this?

Is this happening while you are building the app?  Are you already use Alt or Alt + Spacebar to go into Test Mode (instead of loading the App fully to test it)?  You could also consider working with a smaller dataset during development to confirm performance is good before you connect to the full dataset.

I'm often using the test mode for debugging, which is very useful.

My questions is about the generic situation. If you do something wrong the app "hangs". I dare to say this happens to every "maker" from time to time. In that moment, I only know the solution to close the app and reopen it again. I thought there might be something like an "abort" Shortcut or similar.

Because of the limitations of loops and delegation limits in Power Apps, it should be pretty difficult to get into an infinite running scenario.

I'd recommend using the Performance Monitor to see what is going on in terms of requests for data and how long they are taking to be returned. I'm sure there is a time-out (though not sure what the value is) on queries.

Always try to limit non-delegable queries (which perform very poorly) and, as already mentioned, don't rule out that Studio is just crashing/glitching.
