Move items to specific folder

Hello.

I created a list in Sharepoint O365 where an employee will add business receipts and/or business documents.  There are about 40 employees.  Each employee has, using permissions, their own folder using the Last, First (Boop, Betty)format.  The folder can only be accessed by the manager and the employee.

When the employee clicks on New Item, the form asks that the employee to choose their name from a drop down.  The structure for the name field dropdown matches the structure for the folder name.

Is it possible to create a flow that when  a new item is created, the flow will look for the employees folder (based on the name in the form) and move the new item to the matching folder?

I am aware that Flow does not support folders within a list yet s I am trying to find a work around.  I did 1st create document libraries but could not customize the intake form.

Thank you for your help in advance!

    Hi @Misa,

Do you want to create a file into corresponding folder when an item is created with specific user name selected?

SharePoint list folder has not been supported, could you consider using SharePoint library folder instead?

According to your description, I have made the following test.

Create a SharePoint list with a Choice column which contains user names.

Create a SharePoint library with folders named by each user’s name.

As you mentioned that the structure for the name field dropdown matches the structure for the folder name. So I just use the user name as the folder name.

Then create a flow to create file with list contents in the specific folder when an item is created in the list with specific user selected.

    A screenshot for your reference.
