Sharing the flow and having multiple users be able to run the same flow

I created a power app that I published to a team in Microsoft teams so that multiple users can submit the form within the app. I also shared my power automate flow so that it would work for multiple users, but when another user submitted the app, it ran the flow for them and for me. Its a PTO submission app and it sent two requests for approval, instead of just one for the person who submitted it. Is there a way around this?

The flow is probably running under your account. You need to change that by possibly using a service account. I don't see the details so I am just guessing.

It shows that I am the owner and that the flow is running on the owner's plan. How would I go about using a service account?

    • Go to Power Automate and open your flow and Click on Share and ensure it's shared only with the necessary users.
    • Under Run-Only Permissions, check if it’s set to run using their connections instead of yours.
    • If needed, change the connection type to Use the connections of the user who started the flow.
    • Also Add a condition at the start of the flow to check if a request already exists for the same user and date.
Also follow the suggestion @ronaldwalcott Service Account is always the best practice..

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item.

I don't see the option to change the person I shared with to run-only permissions. It looks like that is only available for certain trigger types, like manually triggered flows. I don't see how I can change the connection type to the user who started the flow either. All of the users are on the same team and sharepoint list, and the flow activates once a new item is added to a sharepoint list.
