Book a room template modify to include info

Hi All

Im playing around with room booking power app and its good. But one thing i need is when booking a room, there needs to be more information given. for for example when a user books a room we need to know the following info also:

-Any refreshments / food orders:
-Any external attendees:
-Dietary requirements:
-Any further requirements:

From a clueless person how could i incorporate this in to this room booking app?

Would really appreciate any assistance you can give .

The app templates provided by Microsoft are great for demonstrating the capabilities of the platform, but they typically need modification to work well for individual users in their own environment. I had a quick look at the room booking app and out of the box it stores all of its information within internal collections. Those disappear as soon as the app is closed, so those need to get converted to a persistent data source, such as SharePoint lists or Dataverse tables.

To add the information you want for attendees, food, etc. take a few moments and plan out how best to incorporate those into data tables. For example, if a dietary requirement is something specific to individual attendees, then it may make sense to have a table for attendees and include a column to describe their associated dietary restrictions. A bit of planning of data structure at the start will often save some headaches later.

It sounds like you are early in the learning curve on Power Apps, which is fine and you've come to a good place. Do some searching/reading on here since many questions are already answered and feel free to post when you've got a specific one that hasn't been covered.

Thanks Bryan, i really appreciate the help. Im just a server/desktop/network support and ive so far build a sharepoint intranet site for the company im working for, and ive been trying to find a way to allow the staff to book rooms without pestering the receptionist with the same how do i do this questions. and i found this power app. And realised its a world in itself!

Power Apps is set up so that users from diverse backgrounds can do some interesting stuff. Your background puts you ahead of most, so you'll pick up on this in no time.

If you've got experience with SharePoint, then consider using Lists as your backend. They integrate well with Power Apps and require hardly any setup. One of our busiest community members has put together an excellent blog, and much of his topics deal with Lists, so check it out.

Wait until you discover what else you can do with Power Apps! Room bookings are just a start. Read up on the Azure AD connector and do some searches to see what some have done for helpdesk solutions and more.
