Hi everyone,

I am tring to set up a flow that will update the fields on a MailChimp contact's profile when the corresponding field is updated in a SharePoint List. I found a template that looked like it might work, but couldn't figure it out. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Or how to perhaps contract someone to develop? Please let me know. Thank you for your assistance!

Best,

Whitney

    Hi @Anonymous,

Would you please share about the Template you found ?

    Is it the following one?

Add members to a MailChimp list based on SharePoint list items

If you focus on the modified data, then we could take use of the following triggers and Actions to update the Contacts (Subscribers) under Mailchimp:

    21.PNG

Specify the corresponding SharePoint Site URL and the List name, then add the Update member information Action.

If you have any further questions, please post back.

    Regards

    Hi there,

Thank you for your response! That works great for the adding a new user to the MC list. However, I have  a number of merge tags in MailChimp that are mapped to the Sharepoint List, including the ones in the picture that are denoted by red arrows. However, I can't figure out how to set the Flow so that, when one of those fields is updated in the Sharepoint list, the corresponding one is also updated on the Contact's profile in the merge tags. Does that make sense?

Here's how it looks when it comes across in MailChimp. Fields_not_mapping.png

    Hi there,

We are facing the absolute same issue with out integration between SharePoint lists and MailChimp lists. The basic idea is there, but I assume if you are using Flow to automate processes you should be a bit more advanced and would need to include extra fields other that the defauls email address, first name, last name - which is currently the case with Microsoft Flow & MailChimp.

I have investigated with MailChimp as well, and according to them Microsoft have used a custom built API instead of using one provided by MailChimp on their website. MailChimp pointed me towards this article. Hope it helps you somehow, we haven't found a way to get arround this case and automate this process. Would appreciate if you find a way and share it here as well. Seem kinda shortsighted from Microsoft not thinking this through, hope it gets fixed soon.

    Best,

Did you ever figure out how to accomplish these list updates?

I'm trying to do something similar. Not on the same scale, I just need to change an email address on a mailchimp list from sharepoint. With the provided templates I'm able to update the contacts first and last name but that it...

    Hi,

No, we have not found a way around it. We contacted our official Microsoft representative for our country and they investigated further and pretty much told us what you see is what you get (for the time being). We eventually abondoned the idea and are thinking towards marketing automation softwares and getting rid of Mailchimp and flows as much as possible.
