Trying to user PowerApps for the first time - so I don't have any issue with already having 2 databases, as I've seen others mention.

I simply get the message we weren't able to create your database. Please try again when trying to create a database for the microsoft common data service.

Help please.

Hi @dave-jorgensen,

I am a little confused here, are you having issues creating the database for Common Data service? If yes, please take a try to create a new Environment, then try to create database from there.

For reference:

Create a Common Data Service database

For the default Environments, please go to PowerApps Admin Center, check the user roles, see if they have the proper permission to manage the resources:

Hi. Yes, it is the common data service that I am unable to create. It did actually have to do with environments. it turns out I did indeed have 2 environments already with common data service databases already, but my default wasn't one of them. When I was playing around with the web version of powerapps (which is absolute garbage, it completely blows up frequently) I ended up creating several environments. It's because each time the online power apps blows up, you have to restart completely and that creates a new environment, and therefore you end up creating a new common database.

Please have the dev team provide a proper message when the creation of the database failed. Say WHY it failed to the user, that would have saved me a couple hours of frustration
There still is no ability to delete an environment as far as I can see. This seems like it would be an essential requirement in light of the two database max per user restriction and has been asked for months ago to be added by other users. Would help to have that as well.
As mentioned, the online powerapps blows up regularly. I don't see how that could even be released to the public; it obviously didn't have much testing time on it. Microsoft should consider pulling it until it actually functions, but I suspect someone's bonus was tied to getting it online at a certain date - that's the only explanation I can see.

Anyway, I'm moving on, now using one of the environment created when trying out the online version of powerapps. Can close this off.

For PowerApps studio web version, if you are using Internet Explorer, or Microsoft Edge, then please take a try with the In-private mode, which should be helpful. Apologizes for the issues you have encountered.

Totally agree. This product has so many bugs and users don't even know what the problems are. I searched and searched, and nobody has asked the same question ever.
