Document Automation - documents in "manual review" not appearing under the manual review filter

I am using the document automation solution. During an audit I found a number of documents did not make it through the whole process.

I found a number of these documents are showing the status of 'Manual review" in the Document Automation Processing table, but these documents do not appear in the Document Automation application when I select the "Manual Review" dropdown. The same can be said for documents that seem to be stuck in the "Extracting data" and "Uploading document" statuses.

There must be a way to quickly determine when and why documents end up stuck. I have gone through all my flows and reran any failed flows. Still these documents are stuck and not appearing in the application. At this point I have spent much longer that it would have taken to manually process these documents because of how difficult it is to gain visibility on any errors in the process.

Having documents stuck in the process is unexpected and shouldn't happen.

Usually data could fail to be extracted properly (manual review state)

Looking at flow history is the way to go, what is the error ?

thank you for your reply Cedrick. I have processed around 900 documents through this system. Is there an easier way to locate the flow run of the failed attempts besides opening each flow run one by one and comparing the file name?

Also I have reviewed the failed runs for each flow in the process. There are considerably more documents stuck in Manual Review than there are failed flows.

It may also be worth mentioning that my process is set to send all documents for manual review, so it may not necessarily be an indicator of data extraction failure

I exported Excel sheets for both the Document Automation Email Importer and the Document Automation Processor flow runs. I found something extremely odd - I was unable to locate the flow runs associated with the stuck documents. Any other document that ran successfully, I was able to locate the associated flow run by searching for the file name in the Excel sheet.

The associated flow runs don't even exist fort he Email Importer flow - very odd indeed as there are records for them in the Document Automation Processing table so they must have been imported

@CedrickB I see you are staff. Is there a way this issue can be escalated? I would be happy to screenshare with you and show you what I am seeing. Our company intends to use this process for roughly 1000 documents per month, but we need to be able to trust that when documents are uploaded, they all process without needing to audit each file - as this defeats the purpose of the automation

Can you send an email to aihelpen@microsoft.com so we can arrange a call please?

There are several ways to address your use cases and I believe a conversation is required here.

Hello again Cedrick. I sent an email to the provided address on 4/21 and still have not heard back. I ran a new set of documents through the Document Automation solution since then, and the same thing happened this round. After processing all documents that appear under "manual review" in the app, some were stuck in the manual review, extracting data, and error status, but are not appearing in app.

Here are screenshots of what I see in app when selecting various statuses.

Here is a screenshot of a small portion of the documents that have a status other than validated, but are not appearing under the above filters in app.
