3,6,9,12 Days email sending

Hi,

Is is possible to send reminder emails 3 days after the initial sending date using power automate?

If so, if anyone can show the flow so i can learn it since im planning to create an app that sends email reminders every 3,6,9 days after the initial email.

Also, is it possible to only send it on weekdays (the counting of the days will be on the weekdays only as well).

What I had in mind

If i send an initial reminder on Monday (on SharePoint under the sent date: Jan 1, 2024), and no response received from the member, after three days which is on Thursday (Jan 4, 2024), an automated email will be sent again and if no response again, it will send after three days which is Tuesday (Jan. 9, 2024) and on the 4th sent, if no response still, it would be an escalation email , on Friday, Jan 12, 2024. And will be sent every day until response is received. (Also, the trigger point to stop this email would be if Status of the request is equals to "Closed".)

Hope this make sense and anyone can assist me with this since its been two months of research (YouTube and here) and i can only find BEFORE the due date and not AFTER.

    Dear S,

To me it seems that the only difficult part in your whole process is what trigger/response you will use to send reminders. Or in other words, how do you know if persons have replied or not which would then have to trigger a response.

All the other stuff you are trying to do regarding sending of emails, delays and stuff is not an issue.

I can think of a few different ways of trying to do this ... all of which have pro's and con's.

    1. Instead of emails you some variations of Approval flow actions in PowerAutomate. These are pre-defined actions which include Request and Response actions. You can use (the lack of) responses as a trigger for a reminder (or not). Again, your key issue is a trigger for the reminder.
    2. Maybe there is a way to do what you want using 'Active cards' or something like this. Again, this is different from emails, but I know that these actions allow for interaction. I am not that familiar with this action.
    3. Enforce a standard response in emails such that you can record input by monitoring the mailbox. This is the most 'loose' process as you will rely on the users reponse/input to capture your reminder trigger. This process may lead to false input. For example:
      1. You send out an email with a unique ID and ask the user to reply to the sender with a certain code ... maybe 'Yes Ok'.
      2. You continue to monitor the mailbox.
      3. The scheduled flow will have a record of when the email with the unique ID was send out and checks if in timelimit X there has been a response from the user. If not, then reminder is send.

What if this user forgets to include the ID in the email or instead of 'yes ok' says 'Ok'... or ...

Anyhow, hope this helps your further.

If so, please like or indicate as solution.

    Happy flowing,

    Koen

    Hi @SecretAdmirer09 ,

I suggest that you can add "when a new email arrives" to monitor replied emails in the flow and use conditions to filter whether the new email contains 'FW' and whether the 'Form' value is the same as the 'To' value of the previous email.

    Best regards,

    Rimmon
