Field Width property disabled

Hello,

When converting Dynamics 365 classic to the UI, the new Model-Driven form designer has most of the features of the classic, but I've discovered one serious issue.  In multi-column sections, the field width property is disabled.  Being unable to set this value, the forms always render in a single column, regardless of the section being set to 2,3 or 4 columns.  I've searched the properties, the forums, and the community but I find little or no reference to the Field Width property other than the statement that it works as intended to allow for multiple column sections and fields spanning 1 or more of those columns.

Appreciate any insight ...

Did you find a solution for this issue in the end?

It's not the Field width as you've displayed ... its the number of columns the field occupies. (See Field Columns.png)

    • As designed shows 2 columns of fields in the left section (See Account Form in Design View)
    • When Rendered at 100% (1920 x 1080) the left section is rendered in a single column (see Rendered Account Form 100% 1920 x1080)
    • When Zoomed to 90%, the left section is rendered in 2 columns but the center section is not (See Rendered Account Form 90% 1920 x 1080)
    • When Zoomed to 80%, the Center Section will render in 2 columns (see Rendered Account Form 80% 1920 x1080)

Given, I don't have the left menu collapsed, but as this will be the introduction to most users, I would expect it to render as designed.

    Thanks,

    Hi @moonboy ,

I am trying, but I cannot reproduce the rendering issue you described at 100% zoom in browser. Could you please share more screenshots and steps to help us reproduce your issue?

The Field Width function is disabled in UI. You have to enter the Classics Designer- Tab properties-Formatting to custom the Column Width.

    Re: Field Width property disabled

Thanks for the reply @v-siky-msft, but it's not the section label width property I'm speaking of ... it is the individual Field Width, shown in the properties section to the right of the form.  See attached image.

The larger issue is still the failure to render the form as designed.  The section is designed with 2 columns and a particular field order, but it renders in a single column and a seemingly random field order at 100% zoom in the browser. Setting the browser zoom to anything less than 100% it renders in 2 columns as expected.  Really not acceptable in a production environment for sales people.

    Hi @moonboy ,

It's true that some features are not inherited from classics to UI, if this is the case, please enter Classics form designer to implement these features.

    1. Click "Switch to classics" in UI form designer

    2. Locate the section that the field is located in, and select it. Then click the Change Properties button in the ribbon to change the section properties

    3. Locate the Field Label Width section on the “Display” tab and modify the value (maximum width allowed is 250)

    4. Be sure to save and publish your changes
