Creating a Digest Email via Power Automate using Groups Emails

Hello,

I am seeking to create a flow whereby emails will flow into a 365 Groups email inbox after actions are performed elsewhere.  This flow then then be notified that a new email has arrived (365 Groups: When a New Email Arrives to a Group), parse the body of the email, and then compile the various email bodies or portions thereof and send a daily digest to a group administrator (for example).

My experience is really akin to a beginner and thus, I am not getting very far.  I have tried a lot of Google and YouTube searches.  Any thoughts?

    Hi,

I just want to make sure as the language it a little confusing. You want to process each email that comes in and send out a corresponding email with information that was in the initially received email correct?

I just want to be super specific because I want to understand what you are going to parse so we can see if there are patterns etc that can be used, versus just saying parse which doesn't help me help you write any actions.

    Cheers

Thank you for your response and duly noted.  I do now agree that my post is indeed confusing.

What I was attempting to do was as follows:

    • Off Day request submitted via a SharePoint list entry
    • Off Day requests create an Approval action and is sent to Approvers
      • Note: I originally wanted it sent solely to the 365 Group email to prevent overloading the manager(s) with approval emails.
    • Then, since I was diverting the approvals to a Group email inbox instead of the individual group Approver's emails, I wanted to create an email digest to get sent to each Approver daily.
      • This digest summary email would extract the text from each Approval email within the last 24 hours and compile them into a single email that is sent.
    • The Approvers (i.e. supervisors) would then go to the emails, approve or deny each off day.
    • The Flow will then update the SharePoint list, send the submitting party an approval or denial email, and lastly create a calendar entry on a shared calendar on the 365 site.

I have with some degree of success created the SharePoint site, the Off Day request list, the generation of approvals, updating the list based upon the Approval Outcome, and creating the calendar entries.  I have not been successful in mentally or physically creating a way to avoid numerous, individualized approval emails with an intended goal of creating a digest that would tell the Approver that requests had come in but which could be bulk approved or denied within a different area other than email.  (Ex - A single email to notify that approvals are waiting but use MS Teams Approval app to approve or deny such requests in batches instead of clicking on individual emails.)

Since this post, I have learned that Approvals cannot be assigned to 365 Groups, only individuals.  Perhaps a revised and/or additional question would now be - Could I have my IT staff create me a single shared email account (i.e. a specific email address within my organization's email domain) and assign approvals to a shared email account?
