Power Automate Desktop says I'm currently editing a flow - but I'm not.

The problem is that I would like to edit my flow named "clear input efficiency report - excel".

Power Automate won't let me go near it because it thinks I'm editing the flow. (1)

The problem is, I'm not editing it. As you can see, the only thing running in power Automate is Power Automate itself (2).

Closing and reopening PAD doesn't work. Killing the process doesn't work. How can I convince Power Automate that this flow is actually closed?

Have you tried copying the flow and having that one run?

I hadn't tried that, but every option is grayed out except Run.

Are you calling this flow from the Cloud Flow and is it being used, stuck or hung up somewhere due to that?

Also in the Task Manager make sure to kill all instances of Power Automate Desktop processes.

There will be more than one. Make sure to remove all.

Check in the Details as well as the Processes tabs of the Task Manager.

Looks like your process uses Excel. Are all instances of Excel properly closed? Even close all Excel from the Task Manager. Likewise identify what is causing the process to be said as "in use".

Make copies wherever necessary.

I was calling it from the Desktop.

I went into the Task Manager and was surprised to find two Power Automate instances and five Excel instances running, even though nothing was running. I closed them all, re-opened Power Automate, and the problem was fixed. Thank you.

Yes, it is highly recommended to use an action to close after using an open actions like Excel or the browser. Excel especially because it opens the process in the background and simply closing the window does not end the session.
