CDS Connector - How to skip the Mandatory field validation

Hi All,

We are planning to re-use an existing entity (which is currently used for Incident) for Work Order.

Is it possible to exclude the mandatory field validation for the Incident# shown in the CDS connector?

When data flows for Incident, Incident# is required and when it is sent to the Work Order entity, WO number is required.  This data push will be handled from Logic Apps part of integration, so checking if we can handle this condition.

    Hello,

Unfortunately the only way I see to get past this is to make the field optional in CDS.

This might not be an issue if all records are being created with logic.

Thanks @Jcook .  That is what we have a solution if this cannot be resolved in Flow or other integration services which we will be used.

    Hi @Mustaque_Ehiya,

Just like @Jcook suggested, the required field can't be saved without data in this field. The workaround is set the filed to optional.

There is the introduction about the Field in the CDS, you could view more information about it:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/common-data-service/create-edit-field-portal#edit-a-field

    Hope something helps.

Well, in Dynamics there are some javascript/business rules logics. It's such a pain you have to develop it on both sides. Moreover if you import an entity with any integration tool including Excel, you can skip the required fields so why not through Flow !?...
