Collection: Excepting a Number value.

Happy Wednesday!

 

Trying to load SQL data into a collection and notice that "CLAIMID" is a data type varchar() in SQL , is there a workaround or do i have to reach out to the SQL Developer team and ask them to change the data type?

The SQL connector is pointing to a view.

    Hi @oappdev 

    I would reach out to the SQL developer team and ask them to change the data type.

    On the basis that the data source is a view, the SQL developer should be able to cast CLAIMID to an int, and therefore be able to make this change without modifying the underlying table.

    The only other option would be to use the syntax Value(CLAIMID) >= 2905902, but this would result in an inefficient/non-delegable expression.

    I'm also curious as to why you're collecting these records into a collection. This is the typical pattern I see when app builders attempt to overcome delegation limitations. SQL provides much better delegation support, so this type of syntax is often not necessary.

    Hi @timl 

    Thank you so much for the fast response, much appreciated.  You are correct, it was more of a quick way to load data from an SQL view to a collection. Testing different approaches and came to that error.
