I need to create an Approval workflow but to allow the end user to choose the Approver prior to starting the workflow.

Any ideas?

    Hi cardinalpipkin,

Please try to use the button trigger. Choose the Text type as user input, then click the ellipsis, select “Add a list of options”.

Then you will be able to enter several email addresses of the approvers.

Followed by the Button trigger, add the action “Send approval email”. In the To field, select the dynamic content of “email”.(In this case, I named the list options as “email”. You can name it according to your needs).

Then when end users click the button to trigger the flow, they will be able to choose an approver prior to starting the flow.

Hope this could be a reference for you.

    Hi Mabel,

Thanks for your clear instructions. Potential Stupid Question: Is a PowerApp currently the only place to use such a button?

Update: My question above still stands, but I've made progress by putting a button on a powerapp which I'm hoping to allow the user to select the manually triggered workflow but selecting an email address initially, then the flow will send an approval email to them.

    I'm stuck here:

As you can see I've created a drop down which I've hooked up my flow to. I'm not sure what to put for the parameters. If I select one of the 3 emails then it will only apply to that email. I want the user to be able to select an email from the drop down and then click the button to start the flow. Am I making a mistake of adding the flow to the drop down and not the button?

    Any suggestions????
