Hi all,
I'm having issues adding a flow to an app. I created an instant flow that I want to trigger on a button press, however when I add it fails to run. The flow doesn't currently have any errors, and it works when I run the flow from the power automate website itself. When I add the flow in, the name is in color, like that of my SharePoint connection. I can add this flow to other apps, and it appears in black instead of color. I have other instant flows that work in other apps.
Does anyone know why this might be happening? I'll include pictures, this has me at my wits end.
The app it works in:
The app it doesn't work in:
Any ideas?
I had this issue and fixed it by adding the button into a datacard rather than just in the form. But unsure why it wasn't working when not attached inside a datacard.
I have also made multiple flows this way, and have never had an issue running them this way before.
Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately this isn't the problem. The flow isn't properly being recognized as a flow in this app, so filling out the entire formula does not make it work or run. A Microsoft official support person believe that for some reason, the app thinks the flow is a SharePoint list or a variable of some kind, but we know this isn't the case.
Thanks anyway!
I could try this, but it doesn't change the fact that this same flow works in every other app I have as is (I have put it in other apps and have had it run successfully). No other flows I have work in this specific app, so I'm not sure why making a flow in a different way would fix it. I has a Teams meeting with an official Microsoft support worker, and we could not figure it out. I sent him an exported version of my app, and am currently waiting to see if they figure anything out.
I'll keep this thread updated.
Hello,
the error you're getting is because the flow requires inputs to be added inside the Run, these inputs are values from the power apps that will be passed to power automate.
hope this help,
Regards.
@Aurora For Flow to work in Power Apps Canvas App and to be reference-able from Formula Bar, I believe it should be using the Power Apps trigger rather than the push button or Instant Flow Trigger.
Check also here
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/using-logic-flows
Sign in to Power Apps.
On the left-pane, select Flows.
Select + New flow > Instant cloud flow.
Enter flow name, such as FlowInApp.
Under Choose how to trigger this flow, select Power Apps.
If you need it to work on both Power Apps Canvas App and by Flow Button Press from Outside PowerApps Canvas App, you'll need two outer Flows, and one child Flow, for more info check here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/create-child-flows
For starting I would recommend to only make it to work in Power Apps Canvas App first, then check how you can make it work with more than one trigger or make the Power Automate Flow work with multiple triggers by using child flows.
Check if above helps.
