undefinedExcel files containing tables that are the result of a query are not supported.

Hi

I have a series of tabs in an .xlsx file each containing a table.

In Powerapps when I try to create a blank tablet app and use the above as a data source in Dropbox I get the following.

When I click on the .xlsx file, the purple progress indicator displays for about 10 seconds then it displays this error message:

"Excel files containing tables that are the result of a query are not supported. Please make sure the tables aren't linked to queries.

Session ID: 2e4a7ab1-6c45-4047-e80d-bd08abddabe5"

I have no queries at all, The tables are just flat tables with headers.

I've tried to narrow the issue down to no avail.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Happy New Year!

Mark.

    Hi

Yes. This drving me nuts. Here's where I've gotten to so far.

The Excel file I was using had multiple tabs. So I created a separate workbook that the PowerApp would use as  a data source.

I selected the data in the single tabbed workbook and converted it into a table but the PowerApp complained that my file had no tables even though it clearly did have one.

The file was in DropBox and I tried saving it as a .xls file from a .xlsx file - nothing changed.

So I moved the file to OneDrive and suddenly the data loaded (no - could not find a table error).

I tried DropBox again and magically it now worked! No changes to the data source other than moving t's location.

My plan is to keep my Workbooks separate so my PowerApp data source will be the "single tab" workbook and the multi-tab workbook will have linked cells.

    What a frigging polava!

The original issue has not been solved but by wasting a huge amount of time I've lucked on a work-around.

    Good luck to you.

    Best, Mark.

I've been having the same issue too. When I click 'Show Queries" under the Data tab it confirms my workbook has no queries.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Mona
Thank you for responding to my issue.
What I mean is the tabs in my Workbook (see screenshot below).
Any guidance and assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Mark.

    Hi Skemaz,

By tabs in excel, did you mean these tabs?

If so, may I know how did you add so many extra ones? These are the default ones.

Happy new year to you too!

    Regards,

    Mona
