I am unable to patch records to a table. Powerapps says the table is read only, however it is not. The source is SQL.

are you talking about a SQL Table via a SQL connector or a Power Apps data table populated from a SQL connection? If its a SQL table then @mdevaney is correct. To write from Power Apps to SQL you need a SQL Identity column as the primary key in the table or the table is treated as read only.
If you mean a Data Table then it doesn't matter because Data Tables in Power Apps are Read Only copies of data and can't be written to.
