I have an Excel spreadsheet that has a column with data that I would like to trigger an action based on a specific piece of data in that column. How do I start?

hi @Anonymous  unfortunally by using conectors in Power Automate you can't do this.

Triggers in Power Automate don't operate at that level.  You can trigger a flow anytime the Excel file is edited and then check the specific cell and decide whether further action is required.  But that's the best workaround available.  There are no cell specific triggers.

ok - can you answer another question. When I am trying to set up a test flow, I see my group, then my excel file but when I click on Table, nothing shows up - what do I do to get my list of data named as a Table that will show up here?

    hi @Anonymous  sorry

a click on Table can't be captured.

Did you put the data in the Excel Worksheet into an Excel Table?  The connector connects to Tables in the Excel worksheet, not the worksheet itself.

good question - it is not my spreadsheet - I am trying to help a colleague. How do I get the data into a table?

Here's how to create a Table in Excel

Also, make sure the Excel file is stored in your OneDrive.

    hi Paul,

do you know by chance if anything change from 2020 at that matter? now i have a manual trigger that runs my flow , but maybe something change and can i use option "for a selected row'?

The for a selected row trigger works from inside the Excel file.  It lets you manually trigger the flow after selecting a specific row in the spreadsheet.  I'm not sure how that helps with your scenario.

that might help, i will try 🙂 the idea that comes to my mind right now it "recurrence" , i think i can set up my flow to be run automatically every hour.
