Desktop Flows connector to passwordless machine?

My desktop credentials are a passwordless Microsoft Account. The connector setup dialog requires Domain\User and Password. As I have no password, how to proceed?

I am running into this while preparing for the RPA in a Day labs session.

Thanks

For security and privacy reasons, I believe you will require a password. I could be wrong, but I've never heard of a way to make a connection without a password already on the account.

    Hi @Jamar_Forsythe ,

Thanks for your quick response. I am surprised that you have not heard about 'passwordless' sign-in, as it is promoted by Microsoft for quite some time. Another email about it triggered me early this year to enable that on my Microsoft Account, which is the account used to sign-on to my PC. Note that passwordless sign-on is available for Microsoft365 accounts as well. Info here Passwordless authentication | Microsoft Security

Setting on my Microsoft Account is as shown below.

As the Power Automate Desktop Flows connector is supposed to be able to connect to a user's desktop, it should support paswordless sign-on, I feel.

    Hi @Jamar_Forsythe ,

Thanks for your quick response. I am surprised to find that you have not heard of 'passwordless' as Microsoft is promoting it for quite some time already and I decided to move to this promoted as best security model for my outlook.com account which is the sign-in for my pc. Note that Passwordless is available for Microsoft365 accounts too. Info here Passwordless authentication | Microsoft Security

It seems to me that as this connector is supposed to be able to sign-in to a user's desktop, it should support this FIDO2 security model.

Coniguration on a Microsoft Account looks is as shown below.

    Hi @JoscTr,

We recently added the ability to use a passwordless Microsoft account, please check Create desktop flow connections - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn

    Hope that helps,

    Alexandre
