Link to a posted Adaptive Card | Link to Workflows chat

In my existing workflow, I'm sending an email to notify people that a Teams prompt has been sent to them. Still, some people either ignore or miss these notifications and others are finding it difficult to find the prompt in Teams when they eventually get around to it.

We need a better way to call attention to important messages that are waiting for people's input.

I'd like to get the link to the actual Adaptive Card prompt to share in the email. It seems to me that this isn't possible because the adaptive card is waiting for a response so the email notification has to be sent before the adaptive card action is triggered.

I think the larger issue is that people are having a hard time finding these messages in Teams.

If I could link to a chat with the Workflows application, that would be helpful.
If I could pin the chat with the Workflows application for all users, that would be helpful.

Any other ways to call attention to or send notifications to users that something is waiting for them?

You're absolutely right — Adaptive Card prompts in Teams can be hard for users to find, especially when they’re sent via Power Automate and buried in the Workflows app chat. Here's a breakdown of what you can do to improve visibility and engagement:

     1. Link Directly to the Adaptive Card Prompt

Unfortunately, you cannot directly link to a specific Adaptive Card prompt in Teams because the card is rendered dynamically in the user's chat with the Workflows bot, and there's no unique URL exposed for each card instance .

    However, you can:

    • Include a link to the Workflows app chat in your email notification.
    • Use a message like:
“You have a pending approval in Teams. Open your Workflows chat here”

This opens the chat with the Workflows bot, where the card should appear.

     2. Pin the Workflows App for All Users

You can pin the Workflows app in Teams for all users using Teams App Setup Policies:

    • Go to Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
    • Navigate to Teams apps > Setup policies.
    • Create or edit a policy.
    • Under Pinned apps, add Workflows.
    • Assign the policy to users or groups.

This ensures the Workflows app is always visible in the left-hand navigation  .

     3. Improve Notification Strategy

To make sure users don’t miss prompts:

    • Send a follow-up email with a clear call to action and a link to the Workflows chat.
    • Include context from the Adaptive Card (e.g., request summary, deadline).
    • Consider using Teams notifications via Power Automate:
      • Use “Post a message in a chat or channel” to alert users in a Teams channel.
      • Include a summary and instructions to check their Workflows app.

     4. Use Universal Actions for Adaptive Cards

If you're building custom cards, consider using Universal Actions:

    • These allow cards to stay updated and visible across devices.
    • They support up-to-date views and action tracking.
