"Resource could not be found" in a "when a file is created" flow

Hello,

I have created a flow which is triggered by the creation of a specific file in a SharePoint folder.

The first step of the flow is "add a table to the excel file", but I always get a "The resource could not be found", related to the Excel file, and the flow breaks.

What is most upsetting is that at the moment I cannot even modify the flow, with this response:

Flow save failed with code 'DynamicOperationRequestClientFailure' and message 'The dynamic operation request to API 'excelonlinebusiness' operation 'GetTable' failed with status code 'NotFound'.

Are you able to show what you currently have in your flow? It's hard to determine the actual issue unless we can see how you are trying to create the table, etc.

No big deal.

As said, I create a file in the folder; first step is "create the table" in the file.
First step breaks.
And for no reason I cannot even change this flow.

Power Automate, so far, is really a big disappointment

I am digging into this thing.
Easy choice: create another very easy flow:
(that is, the easiest possible)

Here how it went:
TEST: test succeeded
first run:
failed
exception: "A table can't overlap another table."
(there were no tables in the file)
(then, I deleted the file the flow is meant to work on)
second run:
failed
.. you might say "correct, as expected", but no
exception: "A table can't overlap another table."

This is my very second flow and I already ran in a number of issues.
Are they bugs or I am doing something wrong?

Just confirming - are you using Test Flow and using a previous run? If so, then this would pick up the previous Excel file which would have an existing Table.

Another test you can try is straight after your When a file is created trigger, add a Get tables action, then Create table. If it fails with the same error, then go into the Get tables output to see if it returned any tables.

I tried that, too.
But now that I have deleted the file, even if I have created the file again, I cannot edit nor create (specifically, I cannot save) any flow and test it.

If I try to run any flow now
it fails
exception: "The resource could not be found."
So, I am basically at square 1.

Nice tool this Power Automate.

Not sure how you're going with your flow. Just wanted to point out that you should be using Full Path from your trigger for the File in Create table, as shown below. I couldn't see what you were using, so thought I'd check.

Had the same issue. To solve this I've created the table manually (with the proper name), so then I was able to save the flow. After saving the flow I reversed changes in the Excel.

So in your case, you would need to create dummy file manually and add manually Table objects with specific names.
That will allow you to save the flow. Once the job is done and saved you can go ahead and delete the file.
IMO, this is a bug from Microsoft. They overdone the validation

I was having similar problems. The file is coming in with the UUID and that will change regardless if the file is new with the same name. My current work around is to get the file content using path, create a new file with that content, then work with that new file since I have the ID for it and then delete it when done.
