Add signature to Word Document

Hi all,

I have an app in powerapps where the user fills out a form and signs using a pen input. The info goes onto a sharepoint list with the signature image as an attachment. With Power Automate I get a word template (with quickparts in situ) using "Get File Content", then "create a new file" from that template then "update the file properties" with the information from the sharepoint list. I end up with a word document with all the information from the SharePoint list filled in the quickparts. However with this method I am unable to insert the signature image to the document.

Any ideas as to how to do this?

Many thanks,

Danielle

    Hi @Dani4,

Even though it might be a bit late to respond, there are a few ways you can get this down.

    With Power Automate premium:

    1. Open your document → Navigate to the "Developer" tab → Insert a picture content control
    2. Add a "Get file content" action to your Flow and set the "File" field to your image
    3. Add a "Populate a Microsoft Word template" action and use the content of the image in the specialized field.

With the Plumsail Documents connector, you can stack all your Flow into just a few actions, using the picture formatter in your template:

Is there a free solution for this challenge?

    Hi @Poma1 ,

For my solution I ended up using my original flow as above, but saved the signature as an image for each admin in a separate word document. The flow then uses the relevant document as a template depending on who approved it. Unfortunately I couldn't use the paid versions acox suggested as my organisation wouldn't allow it.

Another solution that I use in another app... The user is required to use the pen input control to sign. Power automate then inputs the item data and image data (signature) into a html version of the form which then converts to pdf. The paid versions acox provided above are much more user friendly, I had great trouble creating html that would convert adequately to pdf as my html knowledge is limited. Once I was able to correct the html this solution works very well.

    Hope that helps!
