RATINGS

Hi all

Ratings just do not seem to want to work when using Power Automate to collect Forms responses and add them to a SharePoint List.

I've tried multiple different codes and methods and it just will not show the rating given on the Form in Star rating.

My test rating of 3 will either give an output of "3" or [ 1, 2, 3 ] ..................neither of which seems to work!

Can anyone help?

    HI

    When you say neither of which seems to work, what error message do you get, if any?

     [1, 2, 3 ] seems to be a multi select choice?

    Please examine and share your Forms runtime output:

    It shows the raw inputs as...........

    And the error message that comes up is the
    "status"400,
            "message""Item could not be created. Check if input is valid.

    When I said about the [ 1, 2, 3 ] response, that was when I tried to use Compose and Select functions to change the outputs, but that didn't work.

    Hi

    Can you share more of the flow, including any configured actions and their properties.

    (1) Can you examine the output from the Get response details action. You should be able to see the rating question and value:

    (2) Add simple compose action after the Get response details action to perform your calculation:

    (3) The Create Item action - the output does not look right here. It looks as if the SharePoint list was changed (new columns added, old columns deleted??). You may need to delete the Create Items action and re-add it. Or is the output from a Dataverse action? I'm not sure, so I would need to see the entire flow.

    This is what shows in the 'Get responses' output. I've highlighted the row showing the rating......

        "body": {
            "responder": (Shows the email of the person who submitted the form)

    }

    I also added the Compose section with the calculation suggested (substituting my ratings of r6a1c68abea71402880d9ce49a44b2244 in the correct place) and it shows the output for that as just............

    It's not clear why this error is happening.

    If there was a mismatch between the SharePoint column type (e.g. Date type) and the forms data (the responder sent text "sdsdfsd , which is not a date), then we would expect to see a meaning error message. For example,

    Action 'Create_item' failed: The 'inputs.parameters' of workflow operation 'Create_item' of type 'OpenApiConnection' is not valid. Error details: Input parameter 'item/EndDate' is required to be of type 'String/date-time'. The runtime value '"sdsdfsdf"' to be converted doesn't have the expected format 'String/date-time'.

    But you aren't getting a helpful error message.

    (1) Test: please hard code the number 3 into the create action, as shown below, and run the flow. I suspect it will still fail. If this is the case, the issue lies elsewhere, with one of the other columns?

    (2) Can you please share the entire flow. I note that there is an apply to each loop in the flow, and the current item property is being used in the create item action.

    What was the runtime output when you hardcoded the number 3 into the User Rating?
